Info and News from the WebMaster
February 16, 2010 - Making the site spiffier! We have all of this year's bulletins uploaded - in full color.
November 19, 2009 - Wow! We have a new design. Do you like it?
August 2, 2009 - Updated the Contct Information page and made some other minor changes to the site. There is now a new "Contact the Webmaster" form on a page all by itself. I added this to all of my sites.
March 15, 2009 - I have expanded my website design business and now do business under the name Impressive Websites. I would certainly appreciate any referrals for website design. Thanks.
August 2, 2009 - More changes to the whole site. I designed a new header. Purty, ain't it?
The church has a new email address, so that was changed also. Please let me know via emil if you like the new look of the site.
If you need ANY technical help with computers, phone systems, VOIP phones, etc., call me.
January 19, 2009 - Just a technical update. I rewrote all of the code on all of the pages of this website using Dreamweaver. I no longer use FrontPage for any of my websites. Dreamweaver is much better. The pages should look better and display properly in both IE and FireFox. I will be reworking our home page soon.
December 10, 2007 - I added a link to the SafetyNet website to the Links page. SafetyNet is a website endorsed by Attorney General Mike Cox that provides information to help protect our children from internet predators and a means to report such predators. Check it out.
June 18, 2007 - I have a new office phone number: 248-579-0365. If anybody would like advice about the VOIP internet phone services currently available, give me a call or send an email.
June 16, 2006 - You gotta love this! If you would have searched for "St Colman" using Google six months ago, you would NOT have found St. Colman church in Farmington Hills. Try it today and see it on the first page of the search results. I'm proud to say that "I did that".
January 31, 2006 - On occasion, I get old computers that are still working just fine but are too slow for many of today's power-hungry programs. If you know of someone who may benefit from a donated computer, let me know. I sure hate to make landfill out of these things.
January 18, 2006 - Well, the Holiday season is now behind us and we are into the dreary days of winter. I haven't heard from anyone about this website so the main layout will stay as it is for now.
December 11, 2005 - I've added on more pages that may be accessed via the home page Index.
Should we add pages for "advertising sponsors" like those at the end of the church
bulletin? The advertisers can donate a nominal fee and the church would benefit.
December 7, 2005 - Hello! My name is Alan Darge and I have volunteered to develop this website for the church. This site has been published here since early December, 2005.
I registered the domain name stcolman.org with 1and1.com and set up a hosting package with them for this site. All of this registration has the church name on it so it all belongs to the church. I have several sites hosted with 1and1 and I am very pleased with all of their services and the associated costs. It is all so inexpensive now.
We have 500 email "Mailboxes" available and unlimited "Forwards". So whoever needs a pop3 email address to use with your email reader, such as Outlook Express, can have one or it will only take about 30-seconds to set up an email "Forward" to forward the email directly into your existing email address. The address will look like "yourname@stcolman.org". Also, 1and1 provides "webmail" access to the mailboxes similar to hotmail and yahoo but without all of the advertising.
I am looking for input from YOU concerning what belongs on this website or what you would like to see here. All content must be approved by the church before publishing. I'll be happy to answer any of your questions.
Please Contact Me...
I'd love to hear from you! If you have any technical questions about your computer, networking, the internet, website development, spam, spyware or whatever, send me an email or give me a call. I'd be happy to help you in anyway that I can and give you free advice.
or call me anytime at: 248-821-7829
